How to Activate Your New Twitter Profile

Once again Twitter has made some pretty substantial updates and one of them includes the new “look” to your profile, much like that of the Facebook Timeline.

Activating it is pretty simple and I’m going to show you how to do it step by step, but before I do, you should look at creating your new header.  It must be 1252px x 626px and leave a space in middle where your profile picture will be. (see mine below)

Twitter Widget: New Embeddable Widget for Interactive Timelines

Posted on by Toresa Leave a comment

A friend of mine recently posted an article about a new Twitter Widget that can be embedded in any website and increase your interactions directly from the widget.  It allows your readers to reply, re-tweet, favorite, follow an account and view tweeted photos with its auto expand feature.

I decided to test this new Twitter widget out on my site right on the homepage (the location not permanent as we are re-vamping our site shortly) and sidebar.  It’s versatile in that you can place it anywhere on your site without worrying about the width overlapping or messing up your layout.  As well, the height, defaulted at 600px, is also adjustable.

Twitter Adds “You Both Follow” Feature

Posted on by Toresa Leave a comment

This just in from the guys at Mashable.com

It appears the “You Both Follow” feature that Twitter started testing back in June is now being rolled out to more (if not all) users. As the name implies, “You Both Follow” shows you the people that you and another Twitter user mutually follow.
To see it, just visit another user’s profile and see who you have in common on their sidebar, right above the full list of people they follow. You can click a “view all” link to see the full list of mutual follows. The idea, it would seem, is that if you follow a lot of the same people, perhaps you should be following each other (if you’re not already).

Facebook users will likely note that this is exactly the same as the “mutual friends” feature you encounter when viewing a friend’s profile. Along the same lines, Twitter also recently added a “who to follow” section on user homepages that closely resembles the friend recommendations of Facebook, basing the suggestions on the following habits of your existing connections.

Have you seen the new “you both follow” feature yet?  Let us know if you have and what you think in the comments!
